Our training is adjusted to the context of Northern Ireland to ensure that content is both engaging and relevant. The purpose of each training is to evoke critical reflection, aid the creation of a civic ownership mindset and challenge individuals to explore innovative solutions to supporting children, young people, and their communities.

The first step to resolve community problems is to understand the root causes and be aware of the challenges that others experience. By the end of this problem, learners will be wearier of the deep-rooted causes of trauma and therefore develop more empathy and understanding when working with children and young people.

This is a solution focused training that challenges participants to think critically about problems in their community and engages in design thinking to overcome these.

Research carried out by Boys & Girls Clubs uncovered that 60% of voluntary sector practitioners are not confident with applying business related concepts and feel like they were not adequately supported when transitioning into a leadership role. This course provides a theoretical understanding into what business-related concepts are available and how to apply them in the context of your organisation.

At BMTS, we have a network of professionally qualified network of volunteers that can coach and mentor newly qualified and experienced managers that may need some advice, guidance and bespoke support in financial management, Human Resources, Legal advice, Operational guidance, or Marketing.

Our qualified volunteers can help your organisation deliver and assess vocational qualifications such as those from the Open College Network and other accrediting bodies.

Critically reviewing current practice and implementation of quality assurance frameworks to support delivery.

Support with managing premises/capital investments, cost reduction and Health & Safety protocols.

Start-up support, i.e., opening a bank account, building a management committee, applying governance processes, and registering with appropriate bodies.

Identifying gaps in service, reflecting on capabilities, and looking at how to adopt a strength-based approach.

Conducting market research to identify priorities and guide service development.

Supporting individuals who have transitioned into managerial roles across the sector. This would typically proceed the CMI courses.
